Taking your Dell laptop with you when you visit another country gives you the option of checking email or browsing the Internet while you are away from home. If you are planning to stay in that country for a long time, you may wish to switch the language on your Dell laptop. When you do this, be sure to change both the default language on the laptop as well as the input language on your keyboard.

Click “Start” in the taskbar.

Select “Control Panel.” A window will open.

Click “Date, Time, Language and Regional Options.”

Choose “Regional and Language Options.” A smaller window will open.

Click the “Regional Options” tab and choose one of the languages in the drop box found near the top of the window. If you want to change the location, click on the “Location” drop box and select a country. Then click “Apply.”

Click the “Languages” tab at the top of the window, then the “Details” tab. Select the “Add” tab at the right of the window. Change the “Input language” and “Keyboard layout/IME” languages. Click “OK” in this window. Click the “Apply” and “OK” buttons.

Restart your computer to complete the change.
