An electronic ticket or e-ticket is a system used to sell tickets online. Purchasing an e-ticket is an alternative to carrying paper tickets and can eliminate standing in long lines at the airport, bus and train stations. When you purchase an e-ticket, you receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to print your itinerary, boarding pass, proof of purchase receipt or any documents needed for your travel. Print e-tickets at home before going to your place of departure to abbreviate time.

Visit the website of the airline, bus station, train station or third party vendor from which you purchased your e-ticket.

Locate the link to click for checking in to your flight or type of travel. Websites have different "check-in" wording and usually you can access the link from the homepage.

Enter the information requested to locate your ticket information. Some sites request the confirmation number you received on your confirmation email when you purchased your e-ticket, your first and last name. Review your confirmation email to verify the information needed to locate your e-ticket.

Make any final changes or corrections to your travel arrangements and print out the necessary information as proof of your e-ticket purchase.

Click "File," scroll down, click "Print" and wait for the print menu to appear.

Type the number of copies and the pages you wish to print. Click "OK" to print your e-ticket.
