Vivaerobus provides flights from La Paz to Mazatlan for $55 each way or between Cabo and Culiacan for about $82 each way, as of 2011.

Choose the departure date and time from the San Jose del Cabo (SJD) or La Paz (LAP) airports. Pick Puerto Vallarta (PVR), Culiacun (CUL) or Mazatlan (MZT) as the arrival airport, depending on your airline choice. Book a one-way or round-trip flight. Another option is to reserve and take a ferry out of the Pichilingue Port in La Paz to the Mazatlan Port on Baja Ferries. This trip takes about 16 hours and costs approximately $890 for one-way travel.

Schedule a bus trip from San Jose del Cabo to La Paz airport, if flying or taking a ferry out of La Paz. Transportes Aquila bus departures begin at 7 a.m. and end at 8 pm, as of 2011. The trip is about three hours and is relatively inexpensive.

Find a bus company such as Elite that provides north-south travel along Highway 15 to Puerto Vallarta. The trip takes four to six hours from Mazatlan. Book bus transportation from Culiacun or Mazatlan to Puerto Vallarta.
