Preview: You will likely notice two things as you walk from the parking lot to the main museum entrance. The first is that there are a lot of parallel tracks to cross, and museum trains move on them regularly, although slowly, so don’t let young kids run too freely. Second, most of the locomotives sitting on the tracks are from the Western Pacific Railroad (WP). If you know anything about railroading history, you’ll know that WP no longer exists, having merged with the larger Union Pacific Railroad (UP) in the early 1980s. What's Here: Lots of locomotives and other historic rolling stock from the Western Pacific Railroad. Don't Miss This: An opportunity to ride the trains and, for an extra fee, operate a real locomotive.
