Branson - Branson MO Family Vacation

Preview: You can’t tackle this entertainment boomtown without a good city road map and a clear idea of what your family wants to do. There are too many choices and too many exciting attractions to wander around town without a plan. So make your first stop at one of the city’s two visitor centers. Here you can get lodging information, show times, prices and locations, and more tourist literature than you can carry. There is a wide range of ticket prices for adults and children. Most theaters offer three shows daily: early afternoon, late afternoon, and evening; many also offer a morning show. Branson has become known as the live-entertainment capital of the world; the city has more theater seats than Broadway and more than forty theaters. More than five million visitors a year come for the family shows and entertainment. Every show in town is appropriate for children, there is no gambling in the area, and there are few nightclubs. The entertainers put on enthusiastic performances and always seem to be having as much fun as, if not more than, the visitors. Downtown Branson also has a renovated lakefront with an embankment topped by wide sidewalks and green areas with park benches, public fishing docks, and picnic spots. In North beach Park you can feed the flocks of birds that congregate there. You’ll find Canada geese, mallard ducks, and other water birds ready and willing to accept any and all food offerings you bring. Several full-service marinas are available for boat rental or access to the lake. The above description is an excerpt from "Fun With the Family in Missouri." Whether you're a first-time visitor or a long-time local resident, this chapter from the Fun With the Family Series will help you find fun and engaging activities that the entire family can enjoy at great destinations throughout the state, suitable for “kids” of all ages. This chapter includes Branson.
