Preview: Since 1946, the C Lazy U Ranch has set the standard for luxurious guest ranch vacations. One point of particular pride for the owners, the Murray family, is the recognition their ranch has garnered for superlative service, facilities, activities and overall attention to guest satisfaction. Although horses are the focus during summer months, riding is but one of a dozen scheduled activities that guests may request. Nearby Winter Park resort affords some of the best mountain-biking trails in this bike-crazy state. One can find especially scenic hiking on or off the ranch. There’s a skeet-shooting range, where one can test one’s skill at bagging clay pigeons; or the staff can arrange a tee time at a nearby mountainside golf course, where you’re likely to find your golf ball traveling 10 or 20 yards farther than usual, thanks to the thin mountain air.
