Review:
We had a nice family getaway to Washington DC. We visited most of the Mall Area, as well as Arlington National Cemetery and Mount Vernon. The highlight was probably the tour of the Gardens at the White House. We lucked into this as it is only offered four times a year, and we did not know about it in advance.
We used Tourmobile as our means of transportation in and around Washington, parking daily at Arlington. We stayed at a nice Residence Inn in Woodbridge Virginia, about 20 miles south of the Capital off of I-95. We found this to be convenient for our Sunday morning trip to Mount Vernon.
Our six-year old daughter enjoyed the Smithsonian, and the hands on Science experiments at American History. She also liked the kids tent at Mount Vernon.
