Review: This place is hoppin' in the summer time. There are many different festivals and outdoor concerts, activities and beach-side parties. The cherry festival is great and definitely a must-do when you're in the area. The nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes are a gorgeous place to play in the sand and enjoy Lake Michigan. The lake is pretty cold, but the water is clear and clean. Good restaurants and fun shopping abound. Definitely a great weekend trip during the summer.
