Preview: I first visited Fowlers Hollow when I started researching tent campgrounds in the state, and I decided that I wasn’t going to include it in the book. Why? The campground has the most paltry excuse for a tent-camping area that I have ever seen in my life. There are five tent sites distributed along a path. Each one is simply a grassy area about 15 feet deep by 20 feet wide cut into the brush right off the trail. They are little sites, with enough room for one tent in addition to the picnic table. Anyone walking by would basically be walking through your site. If you took one of the slightly larger sites at the end of the path (site 17 or 18), you’d get some privacy.
