Bledsoe Creek is a wooded refuge from the ever-escalating pace in Nashville
. Life was far different two hundred years ago. At Bledsoe Creek State Park, you can explore what it was like back then while enjoying the modern recreation of this state park set on the shores of Old Hickory Lake. The campground is a real hit-and-miss affair—a hodge-podge of good and not-so-good campsites—though discriminating campers will find a site to suit their needs. I recommend inspecting the entire campground before picking your site. The campground fills only on summer holiday weekends, but get here early on other weekends so you can get one of the better sites. The campground is situated on a hilly peninsula, surrounded on three sides by Old Hickory Lake.
